Mr. Tom Lynch is an experienced and accomplished technical consultant to the ceramic tile and natural stone industry. He began his career working as a tile finisher in 1961 while attending High school at Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, and later as a college student at The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. By 1967, having chosen the construction trades as his field of endeavor, Mr. Lynch had completed union apprenticeship training programs for the installation of ceramic tile, natural stone, terrazzo, carpet, and vinyl flooring. He then spent two years as field superintendent and project manager for L&O Tile Company in Madison, Wisconsin before starting his own contracting company in 1969. Eighteen years as a self-employed contractor specializing in large commercial projects as well as residential installations uniquely prepared Mr. Lynch to enter the allied products field where, in 1987, he became a technical advisor to The Hydroment Company in Long Beach, California. A year later he was named Technical Services Manager for the Mapei Corporation, and re-located to Chicago, Illinois. While serving in this capacity, Mr. Lynch was an active member in The Ceramic Tile Institute Technical and Problem Solving Committees, as well as other national technical conferences and committees. He was responsible for investigating installation failures, giving installation seminars, developing new products, and writing technical articles for publication. 1992 to the present finds Mr. Lynch as a self employed technical consultant to the ceramic tile and floor covering industries. In 2009, Mr. Lynch was honored to be named as a "Recognized Industry Consultant" by the Standards and Ethics Committee of the National Tile Contractors Association, (NTCA).
